Individual Therapy
Individual psychotherapy is a powerful tool for personal transformation. It offers a safe space for exploring thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through tailored therapy, individuals gain insight, develop coping mechanisms, and achieve personal growth. It addresses mental health concerns, enhances self-awareness, and fosters self-acceptance. Therapy is an investment in oneself, leading to lasting positive change and a more fulfilling life.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is commonly known as DBT, and is a research-based psychotherapy for treating depression, anxiety, trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder, and substance use disorders. Combining cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with mindfulness, DBT helps people develop skills to manage emotions, improve relationships, and better cope with distress. DBT involves weekly participation in both individual therapy and skills training groups. Additionally, therapists offer phone coaching to help clients generalize the skills learned in therapy to challenges faced in between sessions.
Group Therapy
DBT skills training groups consist of weekly sessions that cover four main skill modules: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. These groups provide a supportive and structured environment for individuals to learn and practice these skills, with the goal of improving their overall well-being and ability to navigate life's challenges.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy aims to resolve conflicts and strengthen bonds in romantic partnerships. A therapist guides partners to address new or long-standing conflicts, identify ineffective patterns of relating, and develop strategies for positive change. The goal in couples therapy is to elevate relationship satisfaction, enhance communication and intimacy, and foster a deeper understanding and connection between partners. In some cases, the members of a couple also participate in individual therapy or family therapy in addition to couples therapy. Our therapists are LGBTQIA2S+ affirming.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is a type of therapy that involves working with families as a whole to address and resolve issues that may be impacting family dynamics and relationships. It is based on the belief that families are interconnected systems, and any issues or conflicts within the family can affect individual members. Family therapy aims to improve communication, enhance understanding, and promote healthy interactions among family members. A trained therapist facilitates the sessions, helping family members identify and address patterns of interaction, explore underlying dynamics, and develop strategies to promote positive change and strengthen relationships. Family therapy can be beneficial for a wide range of issues, including conflicts, communication difficulties, parenting challenges, and major life transitions.
EMDR
EMDR therapy, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, is a powerful and effective form of therapy that can help individuals overcome the effects of trauma, anxiety, and other distressing life experiences. It involves a structured approach to addressing past experiences that continue to cause distress in the present. EMDR helps individuals process traumatic memories and develop more adaptive coping mechanisms. This therapy can be particularly beneficial for those who have struggled with traditional talk therapy or for those who want to address specific traumatic experiences in a focused and structured way. With the guidance of a trained EMDR therapist, individuals can find relief from the emotional and psychological impact of past experiences, allowing them to move forward with a greater sense of peace and resilience.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines the use of ketamine with psychotherapy to help patients access and process difficult emotions and memories. Ketamine induces a dissociative state, allowing for deeper emotional processing. KAP is guided and supervised by a licensed and specially trained therapist. KAP is a research-supported approach that can be successful in treating conditions such as depression, PTSD, and anxiety, often when other treatments have failed. KAP offers a unique and impactful therapeutic approach.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy is a highly effective treatment for anxiety disorders, particularly for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This type of therapy involves exposing individuals to the thoughts, images, and situations that make them anxious or trigger obsessions while preventing them from engaging in their usual compulsive rituals. Through gradual and systematic exposure to these anxiety-provoking triggers, individuals learn to tolerate the discomfort and anxiety without resorting to compulsive behaviors. Over time, this leads to a reduction in anxiety and a greater sense of control over obsessive thoughts and compulsive actions. ERP is supported by extensive research and can produce long-lasting positive outcomes for individuals struggling with OCD and other anxiety-related conditions.
